Need to catch you up on Dinners!

Kory’s been on vacation so we have been busy around here!

Well, yes Kory and I had a wonderful dinner Wednesday night for our anniversary. Nine great years! We will have been together 11 years in January. It sure doesn’t seem like it’s been that long, I guess with all the moving we have done, time is flying by!

My tenth grader! This is hard for me to believe, Where has the time gone? IMG_2718 and Emma, my 4 year old. One more year at home with me.  This time next year, I will be crying about sending my youngest to Kindergarten! Oh my, where has the time gone??

Thursday night was the first day of school for Alyssa and Sara. So, I wanted something fun and easy for dinner, plus the girls got a special after school snack, since it was the first day of school. (Something my mom use to do for me, so the tradition lives on!)   I chose #17 Honey Nut Chicken Sticks. They were SO good! Everyone loved them! We had a few left over and Kory and I ate those for lunch yesterday, the Turkey Noodle Casserole leftovers are still in the refrigerator. Guess that’s telling me it wasn’t as good as I thought it was.  The chicken sticks  are really a good recipe, so I will share it.

Friday night, I need something easy and fast. We had a lot of contractors in the house fixing different things. Yes, already in my brand new house. We have two hair line cracks in our tile in both the kitchen and master bathroom. They were able to fix the kitchen floor yesterday, laid new tile, but the master bathroom replacement tile didn’t match the tile that we had put in. So, that I guess we have to wait for another day when they can replace the entire floor. One of the gutters needed to be fixed, and the alarm system never has linked to the monitoring company. So, yesterday, the tile guys were there, the plumber (Sara and Emma’s bath had only cold water), the gutter guy and the alarm system guys were all here, all at the same time! It was crazy! They all finally left about 2:30, just in time to go get in Car line. That’s why I needed something easy yesterday. I had some ground meat, so we had Ranch Burgers. Easy, you put the ranch dry mix in your ground meat and make patties. I toped them off with bacon.

I won’t be cooking tonight, Kory is working, but he is off tomorrow, so I’ll start again then!

5 down and 360 more!

Night 4; Sloppy BBQ Chicken Pan Pizza

It was really good! I don’t think I put enough BBQ sauce in it, it really need more to really be a GREAT sloppy BBQ Pizza! It was super easy!

Eating this good every night isn’t going to be good for me!  Plus with Sara’s cheerleading practice (MTThF) starting at 6 and ending between 7 and 7:30. I really have to have dinner fixed at 5, so we can eat before we go, because after is just too late to be cooking and eating for us. It was way after 8 before we ate last night. That will just be too late once school starts tomorrow.

What’s for dinner tonight? It’s our anniversary, so NO cooking for me tonight. It’s date night!

Night #3; Turkey Noodle Casserole

Kory helped by taking Sara to her cheerleading practice, so I got to spend some time cooking and enjoying this dinner. It was good! But, how could you go wrong with melted cheese and bread crumbs over noodles!

Tonight? it’s BBQ Sloppy Chicken Pan Pizza!

Night 2, Last night’s dinner?

Well, last night I cooked Beef Fajita Burgers and baked fries. Let me first say, I LOVE FAJITAS!, but the fajita burgers weren't that good at all. I’m not sure what it was, but it just didn’t WOW me or the hubby, or the girls.

Night 1, Dinner #174 Chili Dog Bacon Cheeseburgers and Fiery Fries

IT was good and EVERYONE, even Sara and Emma liked it! AND it was FUN! I’m trying to make cooking fun, if not it’s just boring old cooking “dinner every night”.

Basically it was hot dogs diced up, with ground beef made into hamburgers toped with bacon on a Kiser roll. I would be happy to share the recipe also, just let me know. Next time I’ll take pictures also.

Tonight!? Well, Kory is working, so it’s a “catchers, catch can” night  for me and the girls.

Tomorrow night? I’m not sure, still trying to pick which one I want. I’m not doing the book in order, (recipe #1, 2…) There are “master recipes” and then she builds on those and I thought we would get tired of the same meal with just different meat in it. So, I’m jumping around for now. Before I went to buy groceries yesterday I picked 9 meals that I’d like and brought the stuff for those meals.

1 down 364 more to go!

Another new adventure

Yes, I’m starting tonight Rachael Ray 365: No repeats. It’s a year of Deliciously different dinners in 30 minutes or less. IMG_2703 I’m not that great of a cook, and Kory gets tired of eating the same old things. So, I ordered the cookbook and promised him and the kids I would do it. It has some “master recipes” and then she adds some different variations  to that master recipe. Then there are some other recipes also.

Tonight what’s on the menu? Chili Dog Bacon Cheeseburgers! I’ll keep ya posted!

August already?

Well, I can’t believe it’s August and the kids are about to start back to school. We moved into the new house on June 30th and I’m still unpacking boxes. I think this has been the hardest to unpack because, life still went on. Any other move we didn’t know people so we didn’t do anything but unpack, now the kids on in to things and we do things with our church, life moved on.

I have finally gotten into my craft room and started unpacking and putting things together.
